Position Summary:
The Graduate Assistant in the Office of International Programs is a fully integrated member of the International Programs team, assisting with ongoing work in the office with an emphasis on program management, administration and student outreach and advising. The Graduate Assistant will manage a portfolio of travel-based programs, participate in class visits and other outreach activities, serve as a general study abroad advisor and assist with projects to enhance and improve programming and student learning. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, an interest in international education and global learning, and is willing to assist wherever necessary to ensure the success of the office.
Job Description:
- Study Abroad advising: help students identify programs aligned with their goals and support them as they prepare to go abroad including eligibility requirements, application processes, deadlines, registration, credit transfer, billing, financial aid and scholarships, and office services, policies, and procedures. Lead pre-departure orientations for semester, summer and short-term study abroad programs.
- Program Management: for specific international and domestic programs, manage all processes including developing program materials, coordinating with faculty leaders, communicating with students, collecting materials, and supporting students and leaders as they prepare to travel.
- Promotion and Outreach: conduct class visits, host tabling and other promotional events on campus and participate in Admissions fairs to raise awareness about study abroad. Manage special scholarship programs designed to increase access to study abroad.
- Support larger projects and initiatives to improve general office operations, improve programs, and enhance student learning. Projects will be designed by the supervisor and Graduate Assistant to target areas of growth or interest.
- Participate in professional development opportunities with the team in the Office of International Programs including weekly team meetings, webinars, strategic luncheons, and team retreats.
Anticipated Employment Dates: August 17 to December 11, 2026 and January 13 to May 4, 2026. Exact start and end dates for each semester are negotiable. Renewable for a second year for continuing graduate students.

Scheduled Hours:
- 20 hours per week
- The exact schedule will be determined by the supervisor and the selected candidate; however, you must be able to work at least three days a week.
- Most hours are during regular business hours (9:00am to 5:00pm) but the GA does cover occasional weekend and evening events.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with others including faculty/staff program leaders and the other members of the International Programs team.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office and social media.
- Positive attitude and the ability to adapt and learn quickly.
