Duke Orthopaedics seeks a board-certified or board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon fellowship-trained in Sports Medicine to join the Sports Medicine Division in a hybrid academic practice in Garner, North Carolina.
Duke Health is expanding with a new state-of-the-art campus in Garner, NC, bringing primary and specialty outpatient care, an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), and an emergency department to a rapidly growing community. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy the independence and revenue of a private practice model while being fully supported by the resources, reputation, and collaboration of the Duke Health academic health system.
This Duke Orthopaedics Sports Medicine role offers:
- A key role in launching and growing a new sports medicine practice in one of North Carolina’s fastest-growing areas
- Opportunity to build a robust clinical practice within a supportive academic environment
- Clinical position without teaching responsibility
- Contribute to a nationally recognized orthopaedic department known for innovation, collaboration, and excellence in patient care
Practice Highlights:
- Practice across multiple outpatient clinics in Wake County
- Future primary location: Duke Health Garner campus (anticipated opening ~Fall 2027)
- Expected weekly schedule
- 2 days clinic in Garner
- 1 day OR at Duke Raleigh Hospital minutes from downtown Raleigh or other Duke Facilities
- 1 day OR at Garner ASC upon opening
Qualifications:
- Fellowship training in Sports Medicine
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
- Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care, education, scholarship, and leadership
