Job Description
Passaic County Community College is seeking a part-time Dual Enrollment Advisor, responsible for supporting dual enrollment students as assigned by the Director of Early College and Dual Enrollment.
The is a part-time, administrative position.
Examples of Duties
- Advise students, families, and school personnel on all aspects of the dual enrollment and early college programs
- Have familiarity with college programs, policies and procedures including the application process, placement and registration
- Assist students with course planning and scheduling.
- Meet with students regularly throughout the semester
- Guide students in achieving academic, career, and personal goals
- Accurately report and document student interactions and program activities to ensure compliance with PCCC regulations as well as the partner high school.
- Provide onboarding and support for Dual Enrollment students
- Provide outreach to students using email, phone, video, or in-person meetings.
- Refer students to college support services based on individual needs.
- Work with the academic advising staff to promote guidelines and information on academic programs and make appropriate referrals to academic advisors.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Higher education experience preferred
- Excellent: oral/written/problem solving, communication, organizational, time-management and analytical skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the college community
- Ability to understand and apply college policies
- Maintain essential and confidential records
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Computer literacy with Microsoft Office required
- Bilingual or multilingual preferred
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay range for this position is $20-$22.
