On‑site (Indianapolis, IN)

Position Description, 

The Administrative Support Intern provides educational, hands‑on experience supporting nonprofit operations, program coordination, and administrative systems in a trauma‑informed, community‑based organization. This internship is designed to complement academic coursework and build professional skills relevant to social work, public health, and business pathways.

Hours & Duration

  • 8–20 hours per week
  • Flexible scheduling around classes
  • Semester‑based commitment (10–16 weeks preferred)
  • Remote, hybrid, or in‑person options may be available

Academic Credit

This unpaid internship is structured to qualify for academic credit, practicum, or experiential learning requirements, subject to school approval.

 Eligible for:

  • Social Work (macro/mezzo administrative exposure)
  • Public Health (community health administration, SDOH support)
  • Business / Nonprofit Management (operations and administration)

The organization will complete learning agreements, provide supervision, and coordinate with faculty as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with administrative and office support tasks
  • Support program documentation, intake, and data tracking
  • Maintain organized digital and physical files
  • Help prepare reports, materials, and correspondence
  • Participate in meetings, training, and supervision

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in Social Work, Public Health, Business, or related program
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
