Baseball Player Experience Specialist
As a Baseball Player Experience Specialist at Better Baseball, you will help players improve their performance by guiding them to the right equipment. You will assess each player’s needs, recommend the best bats and gear, and create an immersive, hands-on experience that helps athletes find the perfect fit for their game while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Bat Fitting Consultation:
Conduct one-on-one consultations with customers to understand their playing style, preferences, and physical attributes.
Utilize measuring tools and techniques to assess swing mechanics, height, weight, and grip size.
2. Product Knowledge:
Stay updated on the latest bat technologies, brands, and market trends.
Provide detailed product information and comparisons to help customers make informed decisions.
3. Customer Engagement:
Create a welcoming and educational environment for players.
Build strong relationships with players and their families, understanding their long-term needs and preferences.
Provide high energy and charisma towards customers who show the desire to make players perform better.
Create an "on stage" experience for players and families while they are in the store.
Lead with a "player first" mentality that is dedicated to protecting the players coming through the door.
4. Sales Support:
Assist in inventory management and product displays.
Meet or exceed sales goals through effective consultations and player follow-up.
Apply active listening to dissect customer needs. Be familiar with bats and gloves in the store to meet customer needs.
Qualifications:
Passion for baseball combined with charisma and enthusiasm for the game and making other players better within it.
Previous experience in retail, sports sales, or coaching is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Knowledge of bat regulations, such as weight and drop, as it relates to the age of the player.
Knowledge of fielding gloves. Specifically, the differences between youth and adult gloves, and between brands.
