The Inbound Sales Specialist is responsible for driving referral growth and new business development across the DC Metro region for a full continuum of mental health care services, including clinics, residential programs, and virtual IOP. This role centers on high‑volume outreach, relationship building, and strategic marketing to expand Embark’s referral network and support admissions goals.
The specialist will cultivate new referral partnerships through cold calls, emails, social media, and professional networking, while collaborating closely with the DC Metro Directors of Clinical Partnership team to coordinate qualified meetings and support territory growth. Success in this role requires consistent lead generation, strong communication of Embark’s mission and services, and active participation in events, trainings, and team meetings.
Responsibilities
Referral Development & Outreach
- Generate new referral partners across hospitals, mental health providers, treatment centers, schools, and community organizations.
- Build and maintain a strong network of strategic partnerships to support program enrollment goals.
- Conduct 150–200 weekly cold calls (30–40 per day) and meet weekly email outreach targets.
- Produce 10–20 qualified leads per month and maintain a consistent pipeline of prospective partners.
- Discover new referral partners through internet research and social media; producing weekly social media postings.
- Engage target referral sources as outlined in the marketing plan.
- Establish yourself as the community’s trusted mental health placement expert.
- Meet or exceed all outreach, lead generation, and admissions‑related goals and metrics.
- Record all outreach activity and metrics in Salesforce and maintain accurate CRM documentation.
Collaboration, Networking & Brand Representation
- Partner closely with the DC Metro DCP team to generate new business, coordinating meetings with qualified referral partners and supporting territory growth.
- Collaborate with admissions and referral partners to meet quarterly client admission goals.
- Represent the organization at conferences, industry events, and site visits to expand referral networks and stay current on behavioral health trends.
- Communicate the organization’s mission, services, levels of care, and admissions process clearly and consistently to prospective partners.
- Support brand messaging and program marketing initiatives.
- Own and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external community stakeholders.
- Participate in weekly DCP and team meetings with a high level of engagement and professional presence to align strategy and maintain strong internal communication.
Strategic Planning & Reporting
- Develop and maintain strategic outreach plans and program launch plans aligned with organizational goals.
- Monitor and evaluate weekly high‑impact activities, marketing plans, leads, and admissions during 1:1 sessions with the Regional Director of Clinical Partnerships.
- Adjust outreach strategies based on performance insights, market needs, and organizational priorities.
Training & Professional Development
- Attend virtual training sessions on sales, marketing, customer service, and Salesforce.
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly marketing and admissions calls (camera on).
- Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen outreach, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license, eligible motor vehicle record, auto registration and insurance.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in mental health, sales, or business development.
- Education and Experience Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or higher, with 0-1 year in business development or sales in the Behavioral or Mental Health industry, or related.

Working conditions: The position regularly requires interaction with program staff when on site and virtually with Regional Director of Clinical Partnerships and other colleagues.
Travel Requirements: at a minimum, be willing to travel at least twice per month.
