SGMC Health is located in Valdosta, GA. We are actively growing and seeking physical therapists who are interested in joining our team!
Our Acute Care Hospital is a 300-bed teaching hospital with a cardiothoracic floor, ICU floor, orthopedic/surgical floor, step down floor, and a variety of med/surg floors. Our therapists rotate through the 8 floors weekly. We recently brought on an orthopedic trauma surgeon, specialized orthopedic surgeons, and new cardiothoracic surgeon. Our hospital is working to finalize an expansion which will grow our NICU unit to continue to provide additional services our community needs. We are partnered with Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia and have a blend of residency teams as well as hospitalist groups. Our hospital recently acquired the funds to certify two of our acute care therapists in Lymphedema. We are actively growing and looking to add to our acute care team!
Our Inpatient Rehab Unit is connected to our hospital. Our unit has 14 beds and is renowned within our community. We have specialized equipment including Bioness, Kore Balance Machine, Lite-Gait, and Moveo Table, to name a few. Being connected to the hospital, we have streamlined communication with surgeons and hospitalists. Weekly team meetings are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with the multi-disciplinary team. SGMC uses EPIC for their electronic documentation system.
