Overview
MidAmerica 7v7 Football is seeking a highly motivated Program Director Trainee to join our team as we continue to expand across the Midwest.
This is not a typical internship — it is a direct pipeline to a full-time leadership role within our organization.
We are specifically looking for college seniors graduating in Fall, Winter, or Spring who are ready to step into a director-level position. The selected candidate will begin with a paid internship in the Fall, learning all aspects of our operations, and transition into a Program Coordinator role in the Spring.
This role comes with real responsibility, leadership opportunities, and ownership over events, operations, and growth initiatives.
Key Expectations
- Spring Availability (REQUIRED): Must be available most weekends from February through May for events
- Willingness to travel across the Midwest for tournaments and program operations
- Ability to take on a leadership role quickly and manage real responsibilities (training staff, thinking quick on your feet, communication skills, detailed/organized, etc)

Founded in 2019, MidAmerica 7v7 Football is a nonprofit organization focused on providing accessible, inclusive, and affordable football opportunities for youth.

We are building the governing structure for 7v7 football in the Midwest, and this role will play a key part in that growth.
Role Breakdown
Fall (Internship – Training & Development Phase)
- Learn event operations, scheduling, and logistics
- Assist with planning and executing tournaments
- Support team outreach and growth initiatives
- Work directly with leadership on program development
- Gain hands-on experience in sports management and nonprofit operations
Spring (Program Director Role – Leadership Phase)
- Take the lead on event operations and execution
- Manage tournaments and on-site staff
- Oversee scheduling, logistics, and communication
- Help drive expansion into new markets
- Play a key role in decision-making and organizational growth
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute tournaments and leagues
- Manage event-day operations (setup, gameplay, breakdown)
- Communicate with coaches, teams, and event partners
- Assist in growing participation and expanding into new regions
- Support sponsorships, partnerships, and outreach efforts
- Ensure high-quality, organized, and safe events
- Take ownership of assigned projects and initiatives
Qualifications
- Senior graduating in Fall or Spring (REQUIRED)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to work weekends during the season
- Passion for sports, event management, and youth development
- Self-starter with a high level of accountability
Preferred
- Experience in sports, coaching, or event management
- Football knowledge (not required but helpful)
- Interest in long-term career in sports management
