Seasonal Camp Counselors and Camp Coordinators - Art Camp

 

Position Information

 

Cobb County PARKS has summertime Camp Coordinator and Camp Counselor positions available. These positions work in various capacities throughout the Cobb County PARKS System. We are looking to fill the following positions.

  • Camp Counselors: $17.00 per hour
  • Camp Coordinators: $ 18.00 per hour

Essential Functions

 

Camp Counselor

Under the supervision of the Camp Instructor and the full-time Center Staff, the Camp Counselor is responsible for: 

  • Program Planning and implementation of the Arts camp program.
  • Adhering to all guidelines outlined in the Arts Camp Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Organize and maintain all camp equipment, supplies and camp areas.
  • Contacting campers prior to each camp session.
  • Preparing and distributing camp activities calendar and summary.
  • Documenting and reporting all accidents, injuries, incidents, complaints, and problems to Camp Director.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of campers enrolled in the program. Assist in ensuring that all health and safety precautions are met, as well as complying with the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 Camp Coordinator 

 Under supervision of full-time staff, the Camp Coordinator will: 

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the day camp programs at the site.
  • Responsible for assisting in the preparation of Counselor schedules.
  • Prepares and maintains staff and campers records and files.
  • Administers medications to campers as directed on authorization forms.
  • Acts as liaison between camp counselor and site staff, camp and parents, and site camp programs.
  • Assists in ensuring health and safety precaution are met, and that staff is complying with the Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist camp staff in the maintenance of equipment, supplies, and camp areas.
  • Assist Camp Counselors in preparing daily plans and calendar.
  • Create and distribute handouts for parents.
  • Assist Camp counselors in coordinating, planning, and implementing weekly activities.
  • Responsible for adhering to all guidelines as outlined in the Arts Camp Policy and Procedure Manual. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

All applicants must be able to show proof of your legal rights to work in the United States.  

Camp Counselors

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

Camp Coordinator 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.

 

Physical Abilities

Tasks require the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds).

Sensory Requirements

Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors

Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, fumes, smoke, temperature and noise extremes, hazardous materials, unsafe structures, confined spaces, machinery, or electric currents.
