Summer Camp Counselor or Coordinator

Therapeutic Summer Camp Counselor / QBHP (Seasonal)

Position Description:

 

Organization: Alternate Life Path, in Partnership with Primary Care Solutions

Location: Dayton, OH | alternatelifepath.com | primarycaresolutions.org

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Dates: June 1 – July 31 (9 Weeks – Full Commitment Required)

Compensation: Based on experience & Education $20-23 per hour

Are you energetic, reliable, and passionate about working with youth? Do you enjoy camps, group activities, and making a positive impact?

 

Alternate Life Path is hiring Summer Camp Mentors to support our Therapeutic Summer Camp Program, a fun, structured, and supportive environment where youth build confidence, friendships, and life skills.

No behavioral health experience? No problem! We provide training to become a Qualified Behavioral Health Professional (QBHP)!

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and participate in fun daily activities, games, and group sessions
  • Build positive relationships and mentor youth throughout the day
  • Help students develop confidence, communication, and coping skills
  • Support a safe, structured, and engaging camp environment
  • Help with setup, cleanup, and keeping spaces organized
  • Assist with transporting students for trips, fun outings, and activities (if eligible to drive van)
  • Help keep the program running smoothly day-to-day
  • Support group/program documentation (training provided) and communication with the team

Who We’re Looking For

  • People who love working with kids and teens
  • Experience in schools, summer camps, after-school programs, youth groups, sports, or childcare is required
  • Positive, patient, and able to keep up with an active environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enthusiasm for creativity, outdoor activities, games, and wellness
  • Valid driver’s license (preferred for van driving roles, CDL not required)
  • Comfortable using technology for communication, documentation, and daily tasks
