Grade Level Coordinator (3rd grade)

Primary Function
Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Grade Level Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of specific grade groupings. This role focuses on maintaining safety standards and providing direct supervision while developing engaging activities for members during after-school hours. Key responsibilities include managing rosters, tracking programming attendance, and maintaining all group equipment and materials.
Key Roles & Essential Job Requirements
- Mission Support: Actively support the organization’s mission and core principles.
- Activity Planning: Plan, organize, and execute daily programs and activities tailored to specific grade levels.
- Administrative Oversight: Maintain accurate rosters and track daily programming attendance.
- Safety & Supervision: Maintain high safety standards and provide constant supervision to enhance the development of all members.
- Resource Management: Inventory, order, and maintain necessary equipment and materials within the established budget.
- Collaboration: Work effectively with other staff members, the community, and schools to support member achievement.
- Reporting: Evaluate and report on program activities and member progress.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, or a similar field preferred.
- Experience: Knowledge of youth development principles and age-appropriate characteristics.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professionalism: Must possess sound judgment, flexibility, tact, and maturity.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build positive relationships with members, parents, and staff.
- Energy Level: High energy level and comfort performing diverse day-to-day activities.
Important Notes
- Seasonal Shift: During summer months, the position shifts to a Camp Counselor role with a variety of tasks separate from the standard school-year coordinator duties.
- Schedule: Must be available to work until 10:00pm and alternating Saturdays
- Flexibility: Requires occasional weekends and late-night hours based on the needs of the program.
