Membership Specialist 

Location: Los Altos, California
Pay Range: $19.20 – $20.00 per hour
Employment Type: Part-Time & Full-Time (Non-Exempt)
Reports To: General Manager

Position Overview

The Membership Specialist serves as the first point of contact for prospective and current members and plays a key role in delivering a welcoming, high-quality studio experience. This position blends front desk operations with customer service and light sales responsibilities.

The ideal candidate is personable, detail-oriented, and passionate about health and wellness, with a strong ability to build relationships and guide members toward services that support their goals.

Schedule Requirements

Part-time hours based on studio needs

Must be available to work evenings and weekends

Key Responsibilities

Greet members and guests in a professional, friendly, and welcoming manner

Assist with class bookings, memberships, retail purchases, and account inquiries

Answer phone calls, emails, and text communications promptly and professionally

Present and explain membership options, promotions, and studio services

Facilitate new member onboarding, including completing membership agreements

Maintain accurate client records and handle basic administrative tasks

Support daily studio operations, including organization and light cleaning duties

Collaborate with instructors and management to ensure a seamless client experience

Communicate client feedback, concerns, or escalations to management in a timely manner

Participate in studio events, promotions, and community outreach efforts

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of customer service experience preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Professional, positive attitude with a passion for health, fitness, or wellness

Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team

Basic computer and scheduling system proficiency required

Prior experience in fitness, retail, or hospitality is a plus

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Primarily an in-studio role with frequent standing, walking, and client interaction

Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally

Fast-paced environment requiring attentiveness and responsiveness throughout shifts

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly pay range: $19.20 – $20.00 (based on experience and qualifications)
