Therapist/Counselor

<Job Summary>
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Therapist/Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy and counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help individuals navigate emotional challenges, behavioral issues, and mental health disorders through evidence-based practices. <Duties>

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
  • Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute mental health emergencies effectively while ensuring client safety.
  • Provide specialized support for patients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, chronic pain, addiction issues, grief, gender identity concerns, and geriatrics.
  • Maintain detailed medical records and documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations; ensure accurate medical terminology usage in all records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, case managers, medical professionals, and educators to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Utilize telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions to expand access to mental health services.
  • Participate in clinical research projects and data collection efforts aimed at improving therapeutic outcomes and advancing behavioral health practices.

<Skills>

  • Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
  • Proficiency in crisis management and crisis intervention strategies for urgent mental health situations.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling effectively.
  • Ability to conduct intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations efficiently while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging clients across diverse backgrounds; compassionate approach to patient care.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health conditions; experience documenting in medical records accurately.
  • Skills in case management and coordinating care among various healthcare providers; experience with inpatient/outpatient settings preferred.
