Program Associate (Part-Time)

About Each Green Corner

Each Green Corner is a nonprofit organization dedicated to activating and caring for neighborhood green spaces through community-led stewardship, environmental education, and place-based programming. We work with residents, partners, and local stakeholders to transform underutilized outdoor spaces into welcoming, vibrant places that support environmental sustainability, community connection, and neighborhood pride.

Position Overview

Each Green Corner is seeking an entry-level Program Associate to support core organizational functions, including bookkeeping, invoicing, and administrative operations, as well as provide assistance with program coordination and development activities.

This role is designed as a career-building opportunity for early-career professionals who are interested in nonprofit operations and want hands-on exposure to how a small, mission-driven organization functions behind the scenes. The position begins immediately at approximately 5 hours per week, with flexibility and the potential for increased hours and expanded responsibilities as the organization grows.

What You’ll Do

Bookkeeping & Financial Operations

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online
  • Record and categorize transactions and reconcile accounts
  • Prepare, send, and track invoices
  • Assist with basic financial reports and documentation

Program & Operations Support

  • Provide administrative and programmatic support for special events as needed
  • Assist Program Manager with scheduling, coordination, and internal documentation

Development & Administrative Support

  • Support fundraising and development efforts, including donor tracking and acknowledgments
  • Assist with data entry and maintaining internal systems
  • Provide general administrative and organizational support as needed

Qualifications

  • Interest in nonprofit work, community-based initiatives, or environmental programs
  • Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience (coursework, internships, or volunteer experience welcome)
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or willingness to learn quickly
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience and fluency using Google Suite apps (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs)
  • Comfort working independently within set deadlines

Preferred (but Not Required)

  • Prior experience using QuickBooks
  • Experience working or volunteering in nonprofit programs, fundraising, or administration
  • Strong written communication skills
