Mentor / Employment Specialist (Autism Support)

Mentor / Employment Specialist -

ClearWeave Careers (an Autism support company) is looking for the right candidate to help individuals on the Autism Spectrum find employment.  This job has a great impact on the world and you will helping the Autistic population “open doors” for employment.

2 to 4 hours per week to start (over Zoom)  Very flexible schedule.

This job is working directly for our company (not a third-party).

We are especially looking for someone who resides in California (but anywhere works).

This can be done remotely over Zoom (if the client resides close to you this can also be hybrid if it helps your work with the client). This is a meaningful and rewarding experience that helps improve people's lives.

B.A. or B.S. in Psychology or education-related degree (undergrad) is required to be completed by May 2025.

Enrollment in a Masters or PhD program is preferred.

Experience with people on the Spectrum is preferred - but not necessary.  We will train the right candidate.

You can meet in-person with your clients and / or you can meet over Zoom with clients (and in some cases might meet them in-person). We have a wonderful team already "opening doors" for the Neurodivergent across the tri-state and this is an exciting time for our company and its mission.

We are purposely crafting a new society.

Our work is unique and creative.

Here are some of the things you will work on with your client:

Resumé Building

Interview Skills

Where to look / apply for jobs

You do not need to accompany the individual at the job (although we may ask this for the first day if you reside close enough) - this is more supporting the individual prior to attaining the job - helping that person with their resumé / interviewing skills / and job searching (we will train regarding all of this).

This is a very rewarding experience, that has an impact on society, and great for your resumé. We have partnerships with doctors who specialize in this field as well as with several companies across the tri-state area (museums / video production companies / semi-conductor manufacturers).

This is also a great networking opportunity for you / your career (meet the people at companies and the doctors we work with).

We have placed clients at the Guggenheim Museum, Red Room Photo Lab, The Children's Village (Dobbs Ferry), and the McBurney YMCA (Manhattan).  We have been in business for over a decade.  We are an innovative / growing company based in CT (with presence on both coasts).

The job will start with 1 session per week and can grow after that. You are paid for 2 hours for each one hour of work with your client(s).

It is very flexible and hours are set by you and the client.

This is perfect for a psychology graduate or post-graduate student. We will even consider communication graduate students.
