Licensed Psychologist
Winnebago Mental Health Institute (WMHI), located near Oshkosh WI, is looking to hire a part-time Licensed Psychologist. The position will work approximately 30 hours between Monday and Friday from 7:45am to 4:30pm, with some scheduling flexibility depending on the needs of the facility. WMHI is a part of the Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) and is a psychiatric hospital providing quality mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults.

Position Summary
As the Licensed Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing psychological services to adult and youth civil patients, including psychological assessment, functional behavioral assessment, and provision of group and individual psychotherapy. Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the development and implementation of treatment plans.
- Participating in overall program development, program evaluation, and in-service training.
- Evaluating patients admitted under emergency detention (WSS §51.15) and forensic commitments (WSS §971.17 and WSS §971.14).
- Providing expert testimony in courts of law consisting of opinions relative to the patient’s treatment needs, competency to refuse medication, and competency to stand trial.
- Participating in psychological department activities such as peer review, quality assurance, and professional development.
- Participating on committees and attending external conferences.
Salary Information
Starting pay is $62.55 per hour*, plus excellent benefits.
- *Salary includes $6.00/hour add-on for Doctorate and $5.00/hour add-on for Wisconsin licensure.
- 12-month probationary period is required. Pay schedule and range is 12/60.
- Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.
Job Details
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the facility or medical personnel directed by the facility prior to their start date.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- License or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Wisconsin. Eligible is defined as: you currently hold a licensure as a Psychologist in another state and are eligible for licensure in the State of Wisconsin, you have taken the Examination for the Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP) and are awaiting results, or you possess an American Board of Professional Psychology ABPP Diploma. Must be fully licensed in Wisconsin by the time of appointment.
- Experience providing group and individual psychotherapeutic interventions (e.g., Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma treatment interventions, etc.) related to mental health conditions.
- Experience administering and interpreting tests of cognitive ability and personality functioning typically used with youth and adult psychiatric patients (e.g., Wechsler Intelligence Scales, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, etc.).
- Experience producing consumer-oriented reports that are responsive to referral questions and patient needs.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience performing and documenting mental status assessments.
- Experience working in an inpatient behavioral health setting.
- Experience conducting forensic evaluation, including competency to stand trial.
- Experience providing forensic treatment, including restoration to competency.
