About Perry Ryan Theater Company
Perry Ryan Theater Company (PRTC) is a Bentonville-based home for musical theater. From rehearsals to curtain call, our work honors story, community, and the people who make both possible, bringing the excitement and quality of Broadway to Bentonville. Above all else, we seek to preserve the joy of musical theatre for future generations and all people.
PRTC is made up of three main branches: PRTC Professional, PRTC Local, and PRTC Academy. PRTC’s Academy branch is dedicated to building 3 values into our students. Care, Confidence, and Competence within the Musical Theater discipline. Every offering, students will walk out more capable in these three areas.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Education, Camp Counselors are energetic, passionate individuals with a passion for both education and performance arts. Assisting the Teaching Artists and Education team in their delivery of successful performance based summer camps, a camp counselor helps to ensure that students are supported in their artistic journey, and that students grow in the areas of Care, Confidence, and Competency.
Essential Functions
Assist in the day-to-day delivery of successful theater camp programming
Assist in daily check-in/check out operations, ensuring student safety standards
Adhere to Perry Ryan culture in all offerings, and serve as a representative of Perry Ryan when interacting with the public
Foster a supportive and creative environment for Perry Ryan Summer Camps
Help prepare classroom materials for successful programming
Support lead teachers in successful implementation of programming
Take on minor creatives tasks (blocking of a scene, leading monologue work) for camp
Serve as backstage manager during showcases, helping to ensure student safety
Serve as an ambassador of the FUN of summer camps, helping to create memorable and engaging experiences.

Minimum Qualifications
1+ year experience working with children (babysitting, youth groups, childrens’ church groups, summer camps, etc.)
Previous experience in theater performance
Applicants must be 18+ to apply
Proven ability to interact successfully with students ages 9-17
Able to stand, walk, and interact with children and adults for extended periods of time
Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable personal transportation required
Adherence to Perry Ryan Standards of Education
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in theater education with students of all ranges
First aid certification
Understanding and experience in conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques
A desire to learn and invest in a growing education theater program
