Assistant Athletic Director
Founded in 1897, The Ursuline School is a private, independent, Catholic, college preparatory school for girls in grades 6-12. Located in New Rochelle, NY, 20 miles north of Manhattan, it thrives on a 13-acre modern campus equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The Ursuline School, an all-girls Catholic secondary school and member of NYSPHSAA Section One, is seeking a full-time (11-month) Assistant Athletic Director to support the leadership and daily operation of its interscholastic athletic program. This position works under the supervision & direction of the Athletic Director and plays a key role in ensuring compliance with NYSED, NYSPHSAA, and Section One regulations while supporting coaches, student-athletes, and athletic operations.
Position: Full-time, 11-months; Requires availability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and school vacations. Periodic availability to travel with athletic teams is also required.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 commensurate with background and experience
Reports to: Athletic Director
Supervises: Coaches, Athletic Trainer
Responsibilities:
- Monitor student-athlete eligibility, health records, and Section One compliance
- Assist with scheduling, game management, and daily athletic operations
- Support, supervise, and evaluate coaches and the athletic trainer
- Promote student-athlete success, safety, sportsmanship, and well-being
- Ensure adherence to NYSED, NYSPHSAA, and Section One rules and regulations
Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in interscholastic athletics (NYSPHSAA/Section One experience preferred)
- Working knowledge of NYSPHSAA and Section One rules and procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated growth mindset and commitment to collaboration
