Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Treatment Delivery
Assist in implementing treatment plans, helping patients perform therapeutic exercises, functional mobility tasks, and activities of daily living.
Instruct, encourage, and motivate patients to safely complete prescribed activities and use assistive devices such as walkers, canes, crutches, and prosthetics.
Administer physical therapy modalities including manual therapy techniques, soft tissue mobilization, and application of physical agents.
Support successful discharge planning by teaching patients, families, and caregivers home exercise programs and recommending appropriate assistive equipment.
Clinical Documentation & Communication
Accurately and promptly document patient interventions, progress notes, and observations in the electronic medical record.
Communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Safety, Quality, & Professional Standards
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment and adhere to facility policies, safety guidelines, and infection-control protocols.
Ensure equipment is in good working order by performing basic upkeep, troubleshooting, and arranging maintenance when needed.
Protect patient confidentiality and comply with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Professional Growth & Team Contribution
Stay current with best practices by attending continuing education courses, participating in in-service training, and engaging with professional networks.
Support team initiatives, contribute ideas for improving patient care, and participate in staff development activities.
