Director, First Green Workforce Development

Director, First Green & Workforce Development

 

GCSAA is seeking a hands-on leader to play a vital role in the development and execution of programs such as job readiness training, career content creation, career coaching, mentorship, and job board management; as well as oversee the First Green Program and FFA initiatives. As Director, this position will lead GCSAA’s initiatives to attract, develop, and retain a future-ready workforce for the golf course management industry. This individual will also represent GCSAA through presentations, relationship-building, and outreach efforts that encourage member engagement. Qualified candidates possess:

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation/public speaking including effective interpersonal and prioritization skills 
  • Exceptional customer service skills; personable, professional personality with the ability to build rapport within a diverse membership, including the Board of Directors and other highly engaged members
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, budget conscious environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail 
  • Flexible and adaptable with ability to quickly solve problems and navigate challenging situations 
  • Ability to be innovative and creative; proven track record of thinking outside of the box
  • Highly self-motivated with ability to work independently 
  • Ability to effectively present to interested parties via in-person, virtually, etc.
  • Associates or Bachelors’ degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in an association or membership-driven organization highly desired
  • A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years experience in career consultation and workforce development or similar professional experience required
  • In-depth knowledge of career management tools and resources
  • In-depth knowledge of leadership assessment tools and instruments
  • Experience or knowledge of the golf industry and/or golf course management valued, but not required
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%, overnight stays included
  • Position will work from our headquarters in Lawrence, KS and reside in the local area

Salary range is $92,000 - $97,000/annually. In addition to GCSAA’s attractive compensation/benefits package, we also provide generous paid leave, allow for community involvement opportunities, provide a hybrid (2 remote days/week) work schedule, enforce a year-round casual attire, staff fun events, and wellness incentives.
